On March 30, 2022, S.B. 1138 was signed into law in Arizona, delaying gender affirmation surgery until age 18. The law is scheduled to go into effect on March 31, 2023. The lifesaving clinical care offered by Phoenix Children’s Gender Support Program will continue uninterrupted, including access to puberty suppression, gender affirming hormone therapy, counseling, and all direct services provided. We encourage you to read the full text of the law as it did change from the legislation earlier introduced under the same senate bill number: https://www.azleg.gov/legtext/55leg/2R/bills/SB1138S.htm
