Heart Surgery at Phoenix Children’s Earns Three Stars for the Sixth Time

For the sixth time in a row, Phoenix Children’s has earned the top rating of three stars by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). The newest rating is based on congenital cardiothoracic surgery outcomes data for the period from July 2014 to June 2018. The Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Phoenix Children's is one of just 10 programs in North America to earn this rating out of 118 participating programs.

Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s is at the Forefront of Autism Research with Two New Grants

Patients of Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) at Phoenix Children’s Hospital will soon benefit from two new research grants supporting clinical trials for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The grant recipient and principal investigator on these studies, Richard E. Frye, MD, PhD, Professor of Neurology at Phoenix Children’s, continues to earn major grants as he conducts his decades-long research in autism and other neurodevelopmental abnormalities.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and Phoenix Children’s Renew Contract

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) and Phoenix Children’s Hospital announced the two organizations reached agreement on a new three-year contract. Under this new Contract, Phoenix Children’s Hospital will continue to be an in-network provider for BCBSAZ members and those families insured under plans that utilize the BCBSAZ network.

Phoenix Children's Earns National Award for Quality

Highlighting its nationally recognized achievements in patient safety and quality, Phoenix Children's Hospital was named a Top Children's Hospital by The Leapfrog Group for the fourth time. Announced today, the Leapfrog Top Hospital award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive honors American hospitals can receive. The Top Hospital designation is awarded by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital watchdog organization.

AHCCCS CRS Patients May Soon Choose to Receive In-Network Care at Phoenix Children’s

Beginning on October 1, 2018, most AHCCCS Children’s Rehabilitative Services (CRS) members will be enrolled in one of the seven AHCCCS Complete Care (ACC) plans. ACC plan members may choose to receive care from any community provider contracted as an in-network provider with their ACC plan. Phoenix Children’s is contracted as an in-network provider with five of the seven ACC plans, including Care 1st, Steward Health Choice Arizona, Banner University Family Care, Mercy Care and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. Phoenix Children’s continues to work with the other ACC plans to have its care and facilities in-network with these plans.

Phoenix Children’s Celebrates Milestone Anniversary

“Our 35th anniversary provides an opportunity to acknowledge the commitment and sacrifice of the people who helped us overcome our challenges and come out on the other side,” said Robert. L. Phoenix Children’s Opens Arizona’s First-Ever Sports Physical Therapy Clinics Specifically for Kids, Teens and Young Adults

Phoenix Children’s Sports Medicine program is opening sports physical therapy facilities specifically aimed at patients’ ages four to 30. The program will open two clinics in the Valley this fall, in Gilbert and North Phoenix, which will be the first Arizona sports physical therapy clinics designed for pediatric and young adult populations. The facilities will offer everything from return-to-sports readiness care, to cupping and dry needling.

On the heels of receiving a top 10 ranking for its heart surgery and cardiology programs from U.S. News & World Report, Phoenix Children’s has earned the top rating of three stars by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for the fifth time in a row. The newest rating is based on congenital cardiothoracic surgery outcomes data for the period from January 2014 through December 2017. The Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Phoenix Children's is one of just 12 programs in North America to earn this rating out of 119 participating programs.
