The Aerodigestive Clinic at Phoenix Children's is the only program in the Southwest to offer coordinated care from the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Gastrointestinal (G.I.), Pulmonary departments to those children with complex problems in swallowing, breathing and feeding.
Specialized diagnostic testing and access to pediatric specialists — plus our focus on family-centered care — makes our pediatric specialists uniquely qualified to treat patients with complex aerodigestive conditions.
Your appointments: what to expect
Appointments at The Aerodigestive Clinic may take longer than a routine doctor's appointment. Due to the thorough evaluation by our staff, each appointment typically lasts 30 minutes for each specialist. Whether your child can see all required specialists within the same appointment is determined on a case-by-case basis. Your child also may be referred to other specialists for further evaluation. Appointments for the Aerodigestive Clinic are usually made by a referring pediatrician or specialist in the ENT/Otolaryngology, Gastroenterology or Pulmonary departments.
Our teams have specialized training
Several of our pediatric specialists on staff at Phoenix Children’s have one to two years of additional fellowship training. This specialized training provides patients and their families with expertise and management in pediatric airway and digestive disorders.
